Remember when the Dogwood Alliance protested outside of the 2016 Wood Bioenergy Conference & Expo, as Enviva CEO John Keppler was speaking inside?
At the 2020 Wood Bio Conference next March, groups such as the Dogwood Alliance will be taken to task. Brian Rogers will provide an overview of the new initiative, Future Forests + Jobs, which is committed to advancing the conversation around renewable wood energy and the forest products sector through facts and research, while zeroing in on anti-forestry organizations that have targeted the U.S forest products industry with a misinformation campaign that threatens to harm thousands of good-paying American forestry jobs and ignores the science and environmental benefits of renewable wood energy.
Rogers served as Communications Director for the late U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) for nearly a decade. An ensuing panel discussion will address how producer companies should deal with misinformation campaigns and protest tactics by anti-wood groups. By the way, Enviva’s Keppler will again deliver a keynote talk at the Wood Bio Conference.
